2.Bob Ewell was the perpetrator for attempted murder of Jem and Scout. I found this evident, considering the fact that Bob said "he'd get Atticus if it took him the rest of his life"(Lee 358)and his way of revenge is to torture Atticus's defenceless children when he knows that he would never have the courage to take vengance on Atticus in daylight or in person.Furthermore, after Jem is brought home, Mr. Heck Tate found Bob Ewell dead near the school yard which implies that he was around that night.

1. The stranger standing in the corner of Jem's room is Mr.Arthur (Boo Radley). He is there because he was the man Scout saw carrying Jem towards their house. He brought Jem into the bedroom and stood in the corner silently.

1. The stranger in the corner of Jem's room is Mr. Arthur or better known as Boo Radley. He is in Jem's room because he carried Jem from the field. Mr. Arthur does not like to be noticed or socialize so he stood silently in the corner so that he would not be noticed or asked any questions. It also reflects on how Mr. Arthur is watching over the children even if he can not be seen. He is in Jem's room but trying not be noticed as he is through out the book not being noticed but helping the children out.

1) the man in the corner of the room is Arthur Radley. Earlier in the story it tells of a man carrying jem into the house, with jems arm dangling. " the man was walking with staccato steps of someone carrying a load too heavy for him. He was going around the corner. He was carrying Jem. Jem's arm was dangling crazily in front of him." (Lee 263). Boo Radley is there because he is the man that brought Jem into the house.

2. Bob Ewell was responsible for the attempted murder and assault of Jem and Scout. You know that it was most likely him because he stated that he wanted to get revenge on Atticus by any means necessary, even if that meant putting the lives of Atticus' children in danger. You also know that it was Bob because Heck Tate found him dead with a knife wound near where Jem and Scout were attacked, which implies that he was around and armed with a knife, and a knife made the marks on Scout's ham costume.

At the bottom of enmity between strangers lies indifference. See the link below for more info.
